creative exchanges Shifting Position Shifting Position explored the relationship between the development of non-iconographic abstract painting in Europe during the early part of the 20th century and rapid social changes that were being experienced at the time. The practice-led inquiry linked non-representational abstract painters to a shared philosophy within the existing framework of western art history. The practical outcomes of studio-based investigations were exhibited at Powerhouse Centre for Live Arts in Brisbane, Australia in early 2001. |
